PRESS RELEASE: Lions Gate Chorus finds a new home in Vancouver

A move to the Croatian Cultural Centre will mark a new beginning for the choir group

Vancouver, BC (September 6, 2022) – Vancouver’s own internationally ranked 4-part a capella singing group Lions Gate Chorus has found a new home in Vancouver at the Croatian Culture Centre, after over 18 years at their previous venue.

The move marks a new beginning following an influx in interest and new members since the group’s appearance on Canada’s Got Talent earlier this year, where all four judges voted “yes”. 

The new venue is more reflective of the group’s professional ambition and the impressive space will host regular rehearsals and performances, such as a Holiday Show (their rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Sister Grinch” is not to be missed!). With excellent transport links and its central location, the group hopes even more people will be able to experience Lions Gate’s unique and immersive sound in person.

“Lions Gate has some big plans for the future! We’re growing so fast, and we’ve really started to make a name for ourselves outside of the Barbershop community.” Says Sandy Marron, Director of Lions Gate Chorus. “It’s been a bumpy couple of years navigating our way through Covid-19 and not being able to sing in person but we’ve come out stronger and more dedicated than ever and are so proud to be able to welcome in new members and fans to our new space.”

Lions Gate now rehearses every Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Croatian Culture Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC V5N 4E4.
